Make your garden ghoulish

Halloween is nearly upon us and dressing up your garden is a fun way to create a spooky atmosphere and welcome trick or treaters. Here are some ideas to help you transform your garden into a Halloween-themed wonderland:

Pumpkin Display: Use pumpkins of various sizes and colours to create a pumpkin patch. Carve Jack-o'-lanterns or paint pumpkins with spooky faces and designs.

Spooky Lighting: String Halloween-themed lights or fairy lights throughout your garden for an eerie, atmospheric glow. Consider purple, orange, or green lights, as well as battery-operated candles for a haunting effect.

Ghostly Figures: Hang ghost decorations from trees or set up ghostly figures in your garden. You can make these from white sheets or purchase pre-made ghost decorations.

Creepy Crawlers: Add fake spiders, cobwebs, and other creepy-crawly decorations to plants and shrubs. Place realistic-looking rubber insects in unexpected places for a surprise.

Tombstones and Graves: Craft or purchase tombstone decorations and arrange them in the garden to create a makeshift graveyard. Add humorous or spooky epitaphs.

Skeletons and Bones: Scatter skeleton or bone decorations around your garden, as if they've just emerged from the ground.

Haunted House Facade: If you have a garden shed or playhouse, transform it into a haunted house with fake doors, windows, and eerie decorations.

Ghoulish Garden Gnomes: Replace or modify your garden gnomes to look like zombies, witches, or other spooky characters.

Spider Webs: Stretch synthetic spider webs across plants, trees, and fences. You can also add giant spider decorations to complete the scene.

Glow-in-the-Dark Paint: Paint rocks or stones with glow-in-the-dark paint to create glowing eyes, faces, or eerie symbols in your garden.

Remember to consider safety when decorating your garden for Halloween. Ensure walkways are well-lit and clear of tripping hazards. And don't forget to stock some treats for the spooky visitors that come calling!
